"She used to hide behind me at drop-off. Eight months later she walked onto that stage alone."

When Margot Sullivan first brought her daughter Lily to Plié's Baby Ballet class, the four-year-old refused to let go of her hand. "She'd cry at the door for the first three weeks," Margot recalls. "I almost pulled her out." The teachers gave Lily a job — she became the class's official ribbon-holder at the barre. By month four she was correcting her classmates' port de bras. Eleven months after that first tearful drop-off, Lily performed a sixteen-bar solo at the spring recital to a standing ovation. "I cried harder than she did," Margot says, laughing. "But her tears were happy ones."

"She placed second in the Pacific Northwest Regional. Her coach said her musicality was what set her apart."

Sofia Reyes had trained at two studios before her mother Elena found Plié. "The other places were technically fine," Elena says carefully. "But Sofia came home from every class a little smaller." At Plié, the intermediate program — capped at twelve students — combines RAD syllabus work with individualized coaching on artistry. "They didn't just teach her steps. They taught her why the steps exist," Elena explains. In October 2025, Sofia competed at the Pacific Northwest Regional Ballet Championships and placed second in her division. Her examiner's notes cited "exceptional musicality and stage presence." Sofia is now preparing her RAD Grade 6 examination. She comes home from class talking.
